What is FENSA?

Style Windows is registered under the FENSA scheme (No. 27032). When you buy new windows, doors or roof lights for your home, you are required to make sure that the replacements comply with current thermal performance standards and Building Regulations.

This means that you need to get a certificate stating that the windows are compliant. This certificate must be issued by a Competent Person scheme, and FENSA is the most common authority for this. Using a window installer registered with FENSA will help you to avoid falling victim to cowboy tradesmen.

FENSA requires registered members to prove their efficiency and quality standards. Moreover, the regulatory body itself monitors their performance constantly. As a result, you get a superior quality of double glazing installation for your home. Enrolment with FENSA is voluntary, but window installers that are competent and conscientious about the service they offer would consider it a priority to register.

What is HomePro?

The HomePro insurance scheme is one of the premier home improvement insurance schemes.

As a home owner you should always make sure that any home improvements carried out by a contractor carry a HomePro Insurance Backed Guarantee. As part of the FENSA certification, it is a requirement to offer an insurance backed guarantee.

In the event that a contractor ceases to trade during the guarantee period, and you have reason to make a claim against the guarantee for faulty workmanship or materials, the policy will provide for an approved contractor to remedy the work. The cost of the work will be covered under the Insurance Backed Guarantee policy.
