With a rebrand and a complete refurbishment in mind, the Liberation Group appointed Style Shopfitting to create an eclectic mix of traditional and modern that they had envisaged for The Halkett.
The location may be familiar, as the new pub and eating house was formerly called Friday’s, but everything else, from the new décor and furnishings, to the refurbished bar and new dining booths, have been fitted by Style Shopfitting to offer patrons a new experience.
Style Shopfitting were appointed to carry out the refurbishment and remodelling of the building, from the ground floor bar and seating area to the first floor toilets. Liberation Group were keen to make sure that the atmosphere created by the refurbishment was an intimate one but at the same time made full use of the building and created more open space. This was achieved with some complicated structural works , including the removal of some internal columns and raising a ceiling beam.
The dining area was given more emphasis in the refurbishment than had been the case in the previous layout. The area was increased by extending the raised flooring and introducing new glazed balustrading and new dining booths. Both the booths and the fixed seating are upholstered and the dining area also benefits now from a new, quality carpet. Throughout the building, the various areas have been brought together with careful and extensive use of quality wallpaper.
The bar area has also been extensively refurbished. The existing curved bar has been remodelled, faced with leather and a new hardwood top fitted. This has been complemented by a new ceiling feature. Style have also sought to give a new look for the alfresco area which fronts on to Halkett Place.
Upstairs at The Halkett, the toilets have been completely refurbished and remodelled. New sanitaryware and cubicles have been installed and there is new flooring and tiling throughout.
The Managing Director of Style Shopfitting, Kevin Barclay, said that it was always rewarding to deliver a quality project which satisfies the client. ‘The Liberation Group were a new client for us. They were very supportive throughout and integrated quickly and effectively with our team. We had a tight timescale on this project which made it vital that the client, our own workforce and our subcontractors were fully committed to delivering this project as soon as possible. I am delighted that the new look Halkett is now open for business,’
