Smile Dental Clinic

In the Spring of this year, Smile Dental Clinic relocated to state-of-the-art premises in Gloucester Street from its previous site in Burrard Street.

Doctor Bob Pangali and his experienced team needed facilities that were purpose designed with all the latest specialist equipment, in an environment that was both stylish and contemporary.

The new layout at 14 Gloucester Street was devised in conjunction with specialist dental architects with the work carried out by Style Shopfitting who have now carried out many fit-outs and re-fits of the Channel Islands doctors and dentist surgeries and had the experience to offer realistic product and budget advice applicable for this type of scheme.

The first area of the practise you see on entering 14 Gloucester Street is the bright and airy reception, complete with a bespoke, back-lit reception desk created at the Style Shopfitting joinery workshop.

Behind reception are four clinical surgeries, two consulting rooms, a dedicated X-Ray and CAT scan room, a sterilisation area, staff room with kitchen, a back office, plant room and disabled facilities.

Using acoustic glass for the majority of the partitions to these areas, glass sliding doors, tiled floors and insulated ceiling tile systems, the Shopfitting team were able to produce the required look and the required acoustic insulation.

The surgery rooms have a futuristic look with matt silver and white finishes and have every modern aid to dentistry from microscopes to oral cameras and LED lighting.

The high-tech ventilation system was installed to hospital specifications providing a total change of air every four minutes, eliminating the risk of cross infection. In addition, all surfaces are easy to clean including floors which are vinyl and marble tiles grouted with resin to create a completely smooth, seamless finish.

The project was carried out with successful completion within the required programme, with the old premises closing their doors on the 8 March and the new premises at Gloucester Street opening the following day.

"We wanted our new facilities to be future-proofed and to follow all the requirements  of best practice” said Doctor Bob Pangali, “With this in mind we have exceeded local and UK legal regulation standards.”

“You usually only get a once in a lifetime chance to design your own practice so I wanted to make sure I gave it my best shot” he said, “The way it has turned out is exactly what I wanted. Everyone involved in the build was fantastic and I would really like to thank them”.
