For customers who want to dispose of their existing furniture in an environmentally friendly way.

Style Office has partnered with UK furniture recycling company, Green-works, to offer
all clients the opportunity of recycling unwanted office furniture, which traditionally, has been dumped or incinerated. The scheme is the first of its kind in the Channel Islands and forms part of Style Office’s policy of promoting environmentally friendly practices – we already supply office furniture made from recycled or recyclable materials.

We are in partnership with Ferryspeed and Green-works to ensure that redundant office furniture can be dismantled and removed, shipped and transported to the UK where it is processed by the Green-Works teams.

The benefits to the customer who wants to dispose of their existing furniture in an environmentally friendly way:

• The labour cost of sending furniture for recycling can be equal to or lower than the cost of disposing of furniture locally as all furniture to be incinerated must be dismantled and separated into component materials (wood, plastic, metal, cardboard etc) and is therefore labour intensive.

• There is a clear environmental benefit to recycling redundant furniture as Green-Works guarantees that no furniture is sent to landfill. Furniture not suitable for re-use is broken down into constituent materials and used in re-manufacturing, sent for recycling or environmentally appropriate disposal.

• Green-works will accept items regardless of condition or age (see our list of collectable items).

• The scheme assists participating local companies in fulfilling their Corporate and Social Responsibility.

• In addition to the environmental benefits of this scheme, Style Office is committed to helping the local community. For every container of furniture shipped to Green-works Style Office will donate £250 to Jersey Hospice or Les Bourgs Hospice in Guernsey.

Green-Works is an award winning registered charity and social enterprise dedicated to radically changing the way society thinks about waste. The aims of Green-Works are to turn waste into an asset and a resource, protect the environment, help disadvantaged people and benefit the community.
