This is the newly installed boardroom table at the new Jersey offices of Phoenix Group Holdings, previously known as The Pearl Group.
Phoenix Group has been a household name for more than a century and is well known as one of the largest providers of insurance services in the United Kingdom, with 7.65 million polices in force (as at 30 June 2009) and assets of around £66 billion.
As the offices in the Channel Islands are primarily to host board and shareholder meetings, the challenge for Style Office was to find a manufacturer who could produce a boardroom table to seat twenty six people that would suit the predetermined room layout and work with the extensive multimedia that the room would contain.
Our manufacturer partner Tula has developed a unique production process across its range of boardroom, presentation, reception and executive furniture. By combining industry leading technology with traditional hand crafting skills, they can produce tables that are completely tailored to each requirement without paying a premium for bespoke production.
Sally Harbut of Style Office and Yvo Henniker-Heaton, of Pearl Group Management Services worked closely with Des and Mike Blunt of Tula and the table was brought into being through a series of drawings and renders that ensured that Yvo could see exactly how the table would look and how it would fit into the room.
Once the final 7.5 metre boat shaped design was agreed upon the table was paired with matching credenzas and stylish Sound boardroom chairs in luxurious Taupe leather.
The end result is a boardroom that can comfortably accommodate up to twenty six board members in style and works perfectly in conjunction with the multimedia for video conferencing.
But the challenge didn’t stop there! Yvo has a penchant for stripes and after hunting through our various fabric suppliers we found a sublime fabric from Kvadrat called Mahram Stripes by Paul Smith. This was used to upholster the Aston sofas in the waiting area and created just the splash of colour that the room needed.
With Tula executive desks and storage and Steelcase Reply taskchairs in the main part of the office and a smart fitout carried out by our sister company Style Shopfitting, Phoenix Group Holdings were ready to host their inaugural board meeting in Jersey at the end of January.
Yvo Henniker-Heaton, of Phoenix Group said:
“Working with Style Group was absolutely the right decision. Throughout the project they listened carefully to our requirements. Using the flair and imagination of the their in-house design team and the chosen furniture suppliers, Phoenix were quickly able to turn concept into reality with delivery achieved in very tight timescales.”
