Hawksford International

Rathbone Trust International was one of the largest trust companies in Jersey with over 140 staff and is a subsidiary company of Rathbone Brothers Plc. Up until 2007, their offices were scattered around Jersey with two sites in St Helier and an office in St Peter.

Today, under their new name Hawksford International, they are located in their new headquarters at Hawksford House, 15 Esplanade, St Helier. Commissioned by Falles Holdings Limited and built by A.C. Mauger Construction, the 32,000 sq ft contemporary office unit is one of Jersey's "most progressive developments". The development is spread over four floors and includes meeting rooms, board room, staff café and reception.

Style Office were selected to supply all of the new furniture for the building after proposing products from across Europe to compliment the company vision for a comfortable and efficient working interior.

Sally Harbut of Style Office worked closely with Director Gregor Allen and Michael Vibert, Rathbones Premises and Facilities Manager, over several months to develop a high quality working environment. Over 2,000 linear metres of filing was to be centralised on two floors into two specially designed mobile storage systems, freeing up more space for the working areas. Mock up workstations were introduced so that the client could evaluate different styles, shapes and configurations before any final decisions were made. Specific space plans were developed from the generic floor plans to ensure that the final layouts properly reflected the work patterns of the organisation and integrated the reusable existing furniture with the new.

Leather reception seating, meeting room tables and chairs, the boardroom suite and café furniture from a range of European manufacturers were carefully selected to achieve a harmonious blend of contemporary and classic styles. Steelcase Doue workstations were chosen for their stylish appearance, contemporary finishes and practical considerations like cable distribution, cost and high build quality. Universal Storage and Frontier Panels were used throughout, with the innovative Think taskchairs.

In addition to the supply of furniture, Style Office also project managed the co-ordination and relocation of all 160 staff from the three existing locations to the new premises on the Esplanade. This included the redeployment of existing furniture and storage onto two floors and the organisation of all filing from all locations into the two custom-made mobile storage systems. The complete move from all premises was coordinated over two weeks and ensured that the company was functioning on all working days.
