The Scott Gibaut Homes Trust is a charity that provides accommodation for people with cerebral palsy and brain injuries.
Scott Gibaut Court was constructed by AC Mauger and completed in August 2009 as an affordable assisted living development. The project involved the construction of seven individual apartments on two floors specifically designed with physical handicap in mind and includes a number of specialised design features and equipment to ensure that the residents can live as independently as possible.
Works included underfloor heating, wooden flooring to the lounge/diners, curtain walling to external elevation to provide natural light and brise soliel to provide shade to window elevations in summer. Part 8 access requirements were met on this project.
AC Mauger also created an internal courtyard with trees and benches, a separate laundry facility, external WC and bin store for tenants use and a safety gate.
