Keep Safe, Stay off Sites campaign
A year nine pupil from Haute Vallee School beat more than 100 youngsters to have her logo adopted by AC Mauger Construction for their Keep Safe, Stay off Sites campaign.
The logo, which has been designed by Georgina Byrne was unveiled by Education Minister Senator Mike Vibert.
The campaign is aimed at educating youngsters to the dangers of building sites. Keep Safe, Stay off Sites launched at Haute Vallee school earlier in the year with a series of presentations to explain to the pupils aged between nine and sixteen, the importance of staying off building sites.
The assembly presentations were followed up by a competition in which pupils were asked to design a logo for the campaign. The logo is to be printed onto a 6ft by 4ft site board and will be displayed on the AC building site located next to the school.
David Cobbett, Managing Director, AC Mauger Construction, said: “We are thrilled with the winning design and hope that this striking logo helps to remind young people and their friends and families of the dangers of trespassing on construction sites.
When working in the community, and particularly on a site in close vicinity to a school, we are always keen to do our best to ensure that our employees and those in the community are safe. By educating these youngsters, we hope to encourage them to keep safe and the only way to do this is to stay off sites.”
